3. Use of Our Website
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- reproduce, duplicate or re-sell any part of our website without our written permission;
- attempt to access restricted areas of the website without authorisation;
- introduce viruses, trojans, or other malicious software;
- use automated tools to scrape or harvest data from the website;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation.
We may restrict or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
4. Account Registration
To use the Services you will create a Provider Account. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information and to keep your contact details up to date. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.
5. The Accreditation Service
5.1 How accreditation is structured
Accreditation is sold on a per-slot basis. One slot entitles you to accredit one course (or, for webinar slots, one webinar) for the duration of the selected Term.
- Slots are available in published volume tiers, with the price per slot decreasing as volume increases.
- Each slot is purchased with a Term of 12, 24 or 36 months. The per-slot Term price is calculated using the published term multipliers (currently: 12 months × 1.00, 24 months × 1.50, 36 months × 1.75 of the one-year base rate).
- A slot becomes "active" when you apply it to a specific course or webinar and that submission is approved. Until applied, the slot sits in your account balance and may be used at any time during its purchased Term.
5.2 Provider Account validity
When your first application as a new provider is approved, your Provider Account is valid for an initial period of two (2) months so that you can make your first purchase. The validity of your account is automatically extended each time you purchase slots, for the length of the longest active Term you hold. If you make no purchase within the initial window, your account will be suspended and you will need to contact us to reactivate it.
5.3 Loyalty renewal pricing
Existing customers qualify for loyalty renewal pricing. If you hold at least one fully-paid order whose Term has ended or is ending within two (2) months, any new slot purchase you make will be priced at the one-year base rate regardless of the Term you choose — so a 36-month renewal costs the same as a 12-month purchase at the applicable volume tier. This discount is applied automatically at checkout.
5.4 Assessment and approval
Each course or webinar submitted against a slot is reviewed by a human assessor against our published 8-point quality framework. We target an initial assessor response within 10 working days of submission, though complex submissions may take longer.
- Submission of an application does not guarantee accreditation.
- If the submission does not meet our standards, we will provide written feedback and allow you to revise and resubmit at no extra cost, using the same slot, up to two (2) times.
- Accreditation is granted at our reasonable discretion, applied consistently against our published criteria.
- You must not misrepresent the scope of your accreditation (for example, you may not claim an entire syllabus is accredited when only individual courses are).
- Any material change to an accredited course (substantive content, duration or delivery method) must be reported to us and may require re-assessment.
5.5 Withdrawal of accreditation
We may withdraw an individual course accreditation if:
- we receive credible evidence that the course no longer meets our standards;
- you materially misrepresent the scope or nature of your accreditation;
- you breach these Terms in a material way and fail to cure the breach within 14 days of a written notice.
Appeal. If we withdraw an accreditation you may appeal in writing within 14 days of the notice, setting out your grounds. A senior assessor who was not involved in the original decision will review the appeal and respond within 14 working days. Their decision is final for internal purposes; it does not affect any statutory rights you may have.
6. Pricing and Payment
6.1 Prices
Prices for slots are published on our pricing page. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (GBP) and, are inclusive of any applicable taxes (we are not currently VAT-registered) .
6.2 Payment methods and plans
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards.
- For orders of £300 or more, you may choose to split payment into 3, 6 or 12 monthly instalments. A saved card is required for instalment plans; the first instalment is charged at checkout and subsequent instalments are charged automatically on the same date each month.
- A 10% discount is available when you pay in full at checkout.
- If an instalment payment fails we will notify you and retry. If the balance remains unpaid 30 days after the first failed attempt we may suspend the accreditations attached to that order until the balance is settled.
6.3 Price changes
We may change published prices for future purchases at any time. Price changes never apply retroactively: slots you have already purchased, and the loyalty renewal rate available to you, are fixed at the price you paid / the pricing page published at your time of purchase.
7. Cancellation and Refunds
7.1 Statutory cooling-off (consumers only)
If you are purchasing as a consumer (i.e. not wholly or mainly for business purposes), you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of placing your order, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, email [email protected] with your order number. If we have not begun reviewing any course submission against the order, you will receive a full refund within 14 days. If you expressly asked us to begin review during the cooling-off period and we have done so, we may deduct a pro-rata amount for the work already performed. This cooling-off right does not apply to business customers; our refund policy in 7.2 applies to all customers.
7.2 Refund policy
Subject to 7.1, our refund policy for slots is:
- Unused slots, within 30 days of purchase: we will refund 100% of the price paid for any slot you have not yet applied to a course or webinar.
- Unused slots, 30 days or more after purchase: we will refund 50% of the price paid for any slot not yet applied.
- Applied slots — before assessor work has begun: 100% of the slot price is refundable.
- Applied slots — after assessor work has begun but before a decision is issued: 50% of the slot price is refundable, reflecting work already undertaken.
- Applied slots — after accreditation has been granted: no refund is due, as the service has been fully delivered.
If we are unable to complete the accreditation process due to our own error or inability, you will receive a full refund of the affected slot(s).
7.3 Not renewing
If you do not wish to purchase further slots, simply let your current Term run out. You owe no further payment. You will retain access to your Provider Account to view historical records for the duration of our data retention period (see Privacy Policy section 6).
8. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images and software — is the property of VeritasCPD or our licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright law.
8.1 Accreditation mark licence
Upon successful accreditation we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free licence to use the VeritasCPD accreditation mark solely in connection with the specific accredited course or webinar, for the duration of the accreditation. This licence is subject to the following conditions:
- the mark must be used in the form we supply, without modification;
- the mark must not be used in a way that implies we endorse your organisation as a whole or any course or webinar that is not accredited;
- the licence terminates automatically on expiry, withdrawal, or non-renewal of accreditation; and
- you must cease all use of the mark, on all media under your control, within 14 days of the licence ending.
8.2 Your content
You retain ownership of the course materials, descriptions, and assets you submit. By submitting them, you grant us a limited licence to copy, review, store and display them internally for the purpose of assessing and administering accreditation, and to display publicly-facing fields (course name, description, provider name) on your accreditation certificate and verification page.
8.3 Verification pages
We host a public verification page for each active accreditation. Verification pages remain available while the accreditation is active. When an accreditation expires or is withdrawn, the verification page will be updated to reflect that status rather than removed, so that anyone checking an issued certificate can see its current validity.
9. Data Protection and Course Submissions
Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
You warrant that the course or webinar materials you submit to us do not contain personal data of learners, trainers, or other third parties, except where necessary for assessment (for example, example certificates where names have been fictionalised or pseudonymised). If you need to submit materials that include real personal data, please contact us in advance so we can put in place a data-processing agreement appropriate to the submission.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- our Services are provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, other than those that cannot be excluded by law;
- we do not guarantee that our website will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or error-free;
- our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, is limited to the total fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim;
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities;
- CPD accreditation by VeritasCPD does not guarantee the commercial success of your training programmes or any specific outcome for learners.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. If you deal with us as a consumer, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these Terms.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us against any claim, damage, loss or reasonable legal cost arising from (i) your breach of these Terms, (ii) your misrepresentation of your accreditation status, or (iii) any allegation that content you submitted to us infringes a third party's intellectual-property or privacy rights.
12. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations that results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, government actions, pandemics, network outages, strikes, or failures of third-party services.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. For changes that materially affect your existing accreditations or orders, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or on the website. Continued use of our Services after the effective date of a change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Changes never apply retroactively to slots you have already purchased.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed severed and shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
15. No Waiver
A failure or delay by us to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that if you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom the courts of that part have concurrent jurisdiction.
